A Welcome From The Archivist

ALL MATERIAL IS THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OF THE STOLEN TIMES and THE ARCHIVIST.

To the Reader,

If this newspaper has found you, then one of two things has happened.

Either you were looking for it…

…or it was looking for you.

Welcome to The Stolen Times.

You have arrived in a place devoted to the recovery of misplaced history.

Not forgotten history.

Forgotten implies absence.

History is never absent.

It merely becomes inconvenient.

Governments misplace it.

Empires edit it.

Corporations classify it.

Time itself occasionally develops gaps through which entire stories quietly disappear.

We are interested in those gaps.

The Archive exists for one purpose:

To recover what has been stolen.

Not jewels.

Not paintings.

Not gold.

Time.

Ideas.

Lives.

Conversations.

Footnotes.

Entire centuries, on one regrettable occasion.

Some of what you will read here is accepted history.

Some is disputed.

Some of this is fictionalized for the comfort and safety of those involved.

Some of it is best described as pure fantasy – at least in this timeline. Any such material will be designated ‘From the twisted imagination of _____…probably…’

Some of it has been officially denied despite an inconvenient quantity of evidence.

The Archive maintains no preference beyond the preservation of the record and the voices that whisper in the dark corners and stolen places where the truth resides.

Truth is frequently untidy.

We have learned to appreciate untidy things and we hope you do too.
